“Hey! I could be wrong, but I says haystacks are the ‘Cull’s greatest asset. They feed the livestock, make mice (which feed the cats which keep the mice away), and offer excellent cover is a savage battle against the Orelog! Or so my grandpappy told me.” – Demt Flosum, farmhand and philosopher

The haystacks of Torbridge Cull have indeed helped in the defense of the town in the years when Orelog still raided from the mountains. You can hide a man in a robust stack, and you can certainly hide many men in a field of them.
